Transit of Venus 2012

The weather has been atrocious, blanket cloud cover and rain.  A few small holes opened up in the clouds, most of them closed again before I could swing the scope around, locate the sun and get focus.  I was away on holiday and the scope was polar aligned by keeping the beach on my left (there are at least 3 people in the world that would find that funny).  The poor polar alignment meant that the scope could not accurately track where the sun would be when the next hole appeared in the clouds.

I finally got lucky enough to locate the sun with one short gap  and then another 60 second window a few minutes later allowed me to shoot about 10 frames.
